The It-Girl Approach to Modern Hair: REN. Rollers (As Seen in British Vogue)

By REN. Haircare | Hair Tips & Styling

British Vogue called it. In their March 2026 Beauty Edit, Vogue described REN. rollers as "the it-girl approach to modern hair" — and we couldn't agree more.

There's a reason rollers have never gone out of style. No hot tool gives you the same effortless, bouncy volume — and no blowout lasts quite as long. Whether you're after a full 70s-inspired blowout, a soft lift at the roots, or a polished fringe, rollers are the professional's secret weapon.

And now, they're yours too.

What British Vogue Said About REN. Rollers

"REN HAIRCARE's signature velcro rollers are designed to add effortless volume with natural movement. Suitable for everyday routines, they help create bouncy finishes that feel easy, wearable and elevated. The it-girl approach to modern hair." — British Vogue, Beauty Edit, March 2026

And it's not just Vogue. Tatler featured our cult detangling brush in their Spring Beauty Secrets issue, calling it "an it-girl essential for at-home users and stylists alike."

Two of the world's most prestigious publications. One Australian brand. The same verdict — REN. delivers.

Why Rollers Are Having a Major Moment in Australia

Scroll through Instagram or TikTok right now and you'll see it everywhere — the bouncy blowout is back. Big, voluminous hair with movement and shine has taken over, and rollers are behind every single one of those looks.

The shift away from flat irons and towards volume-first styling has made rollers one of the most talked-about hair tools of 2025 and 2026. Australian hairdressers and their clients are rediscovering what salon professionals have always known — nothing beats a roller set for lasting, damage-free volume.

British Vogue noticed. Now it's your turn.

The REN. Roller Range — What's Available

REN. Volume Roller Set ⭐ Best Seller | $80 AUD

Eight large rollers with clips included, presented in a stunning storage bag. This is the full salon experience at home. The large barrel creates big, bouncy volume and loose waves — perfect for thick or long hair, or anyone wanting maximum lift.

As featured in British Vogue Beauty Edit, March 2026.

Best for: Full blowouts, big volume, loose waves, special occasions

The Extra Volume Set | $25 AUD

Two large rollers — perfect for targeting specific sections. Use at the crown for lift, or on the ends for a polished curl. A great starting point if you're new to rollers, or an easy add-on to your existing set.

Best for: Targeted volume, trying rollers for the first time, travel

The Fringe Roller Set | $25 AUD

Two smaller rollers designed specifically for fringes and shorter sections. If you've ever struggled to get your fringe to sit just right, this is your answer. Roll, dry, release — and enjoy a perfectly shaped fringe every time.

Best for: Fringes, shorter layers, face-framing sections

How to Use Hair Rollers for Maximum Volume — Step by Step

Getting salon-worthy results at home is simpler than you think. Here's the REN. method:

What you'll need:

  • REN. rollers (Volume Set, Extra Volume, or Fringe Set)
  • REN. detangling brush (The Ultimate REN. or Mini REN.)
  • Hair clips (included with your roller set)
  • A blow dryer
  • A light-hold mousse or volumising spray (optional)

Step 1: Start with freshly washed, damp hair Rollers work best on hair that's about 80% dry. Fully wet hair takes too long to set and can cause the roller to slip.

Step 2: Detangle completely with your REN. brush Use The Ultimate REN. to brush through every section before rolling. Knot-free hair rolls smoothly and sets more evenly.

Step 3: Section and roll Divide your hair into sections — larger sections for looser waves, smaller for tighter curls. Roll each section away from your face for the most flattering, lifted result.

Step 4: Secure with clips Use the included clips to hold each roller in place. They should feel snug but not tight.

Step 5: Dry with a blow dryer or sit under a hood dryer Go section by section with your blow dryer on medium heat, or simply let your hair sit under a hood dryer for 15–20 minutes.

Step 6: Cool completely before removing This is the step most people skip — and it makes all the difference. Cool hair holds its shape. Removing rollers too early means your volume won't last.

Step 7: Remove, shake, and style Gently unroll each section, shake out with your fingers, and use your REN. brush lightly to blend and smooth.

Pro Tips for Long-Lasting Volume

Start with a volumising product — a light mousse or spray applied to damp hair before rolling gives your style staying power.

Roll away from your face — this creates the most flattering, natural-looking volume and keeps hair off your face.

Use the right size roller for your goal — larger rollers = more wave and lift, smaller rollers = tighter curls and more defined shape.

Don't rush the cooling step — volume that cools in the roller holds for hours. Volume that cools out of the roller disappears quickly.

Finish with a light hold spray — just a touch to lock in the shape without weighing it down.

Rollers vs Heat Tools — Why Your Hair Will Thank You

REN. Rollers Flat Iron / Curling Wand
Heat damage None (if air dried) High
Volume Maximum Minimal
Longevity Long-lasting Fades quickly
Shine Natural, luminous Can cause dullness over time
Learning curve Easy Moderate
Vogue-approved

For anyone with colour-treated hair, extensions, or hair that's prone to damage — rollers are the kindest styling method available. All the shape and volume, none of the heat stress.
